Agreement signed between the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the MIMT Master’s program

On December 3, the Department of Odontostomatological and Maxillofacial Sciences, sponsor of the Master’s Program in Integrated Management of Medical Devices (MIMT), and the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) signed an agreement that strengthens collaboration between academia and healthcare research.

“For the 2024/2025 academic year, the MIMT Master’s Program has entered into a strategic partnership with the Italian National Institute of Health, the leading institution for research and public health in Italy. This agreement responds to the need to create synergies between academic education and the needs of the medical device sector, a field that requires continuous innovation and interdisciplinary expertise,” stated the Master’s scientific coordinator, Professor Fabrizio Guerra.

Since the first edition of the Master’s Program, eminent members of the ISS have been involved in the faculty, including Engineer Marina Torre, Dr. Francesca Capone, and Engineer Veronica Mari. This agreement represents a further step forward, offering students unique opportunities, including the possibility of internships and placements in the Institute’s laboratories and offices. Among these, Notified Body 0373 stands out. This body, directed by Dr. Roberta Marcoaldi, a former instructor on the MIMT Master’s program, handles the CE certification of medical devices, a central theme of the program.

“We are confident that this collaboration will enrich the Master’s program, providing our students with practical experience and direct contact with the professional world,” concluded the Master’s director, Professor Iole Vozza.
